I'm pretty sure the ESV (which I finished reading some time ago) says something similar.Alihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01860216271350147224noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30667667.post-67142480173173718092014-08-15T02:11:46.822+10:002014-08-15T02:11:46.822+10:00Oh yes! I had not come across your interpretation before, so I looked up Prov 18:24 and my version says "A man with many friends may be harmed, but there is a friend who stays closer than a brother". That resonates with me - being a big introvert who prefers a few very good friends to a large circle of acquaintances.Alihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01860216271350147224noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30667667.post-28344949784418802662014-08-14T14:35:58.161+10:002014-08-14T14:35:58.161+10:00That's interesting to me to see that even Aris...That's interesting to me to see that even Aristotle all those years ago recognized this. Some things don't change. I've always been challenged with the Proverb:A man who has friends must himself be friendly... that not being my natural inclination often...
Pr.18:24
Hmm... but I see just now that this verse has many divergent translations. Hmmm.

Anyway, thanks for the quote. I have not read Aristotle.Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16682029173527471837noreply@blogger.com
