St Saviour's Rose

This has been the source of perhaps a ridiculous level of anticipation and excitement at my house. I only had one rose bud, as I don't think my bushes were getting quite enough sun, but it came through and opened into a spectacular rose.

It really is the colour of a Bishop's shirt (I took many and varied photos from different angles trying to get the colour represented properly) and it smells fabulous.

There is something about roses. Hooray for your rose. Enjoy. You should have a read of "The Little Prince" some time soon.

Thanks Meredith. I will add it to the list. I am working through a bookclub book at present, trying to make myself get to the end - the foreboding in it is terrible and I don't want to read the tragedy! Next up is Lila! Can't wait for that.

Oooh yes! Lila arrived at my house this week. Saving it for Boxing Day. I haven't read The Little Prince in a long time and so I can't actually remember much about it. It is sort of a strange, philosophical wander. But I do remember it had a long section about a rose. I perhaps ought to have a quick read before actually referring it to you!
