A better day for the Old Men

The picture in my header is one I took of the Old Men of Storr, on the Scottish Isle of Skye, in the fog (in case you hadn't noticed). I have two other nieces who are in Scotland right now and got to see the Old Men on a better day.

Here they are setting out on the walk.

On the ascent

Enjoying the view from the top

looks like an awesome place. i'd like to have a sword fight on there.

Hey yeah! A sword fight would be just the thing! Or some tragic kind of swooning episode over a lost love.

i guess, but swords are much better than swooning love.

No, no. I think it's the perfect place for a woman to go wandering off to after being disappointed in love, there to get caught in a wild storm, catch her death and die of a broken heart.

ok, now I'm just getting cranky

See, maybe you're just the type to be the disappointer - too busy playing with your sword to notice the good woman who has loved forever, who only wanted one kind word .... maybe when she's dead you'll spare her one small thought.

:)

could be. but maybe she was too busy moaning and catching colds to realise that meanwhile I was defending her from vampires and dragons with my awesome sword. Giving her one kind word wouldv'e been just the window the vampire would need to get in there and make her one of the undead. it's about priorities- kind words v. eternal torment.

You didn't have to go all supernatural on me. See, maybe this good soul was actually an angel in disguise, and one kind word or cup of cool water may have been just the thing to call down all the power of heaven to your side and defeat the vampires and dragons forever ...
